Conversations about words and images (in progress)

This collaboration between a narrative poet and an abstract artist started through a matchmaking process within the initial phase of the University of Leeds Cultural Institute’s Creative Labs 2020. During a series of online meetings, followed by periods of creative responses to word and image, this project of poet Laila Sumpton and artist Andrea Thoma has generated a wealth of material, from direct responses to poems and images to reflections on the methodologies and concerns pertaining to their respective disciplines.
